Distant planet Mars becomes overun at the UAC bio-station ( Union Aerospace Corporation ) with super human mutants bent on destroying all who stands in their way. Dark. Brooding. Actually, it's worth noting that the film is by the author of The Ring. Dark Water doesn't have that many similarities to its predecessor, but it does share a lot theme-wise with The Ring Two. Unfortunately as with The Ring Two, it wasn't a box office smash. Either is Dark Water.... Dark Water, ( directed by Walter Salles ) is at least modulated with some fine acting and claustrophobic visual imagery.   more »
